EMDR Therapy
or
Integrative EMDR Psychotherapy
is a form of therapy that is effective in treating all types of painful traumatic experiences & PTSD. Whether they happened a long time ago, or more recently, EMDR works extremely well in desensitizing the triggers and intrusive negative thoughts or beliefs that a person may have unconsciously attached to a traumatic experience.
EMDR views survival of trauma from a holistic-physiological perspective, involving the whole nervous system.
EMDR has been highly researched & is an evidenced-based model of therapy that can be used strictly by itself, or integrated into regular “Talk Therapy” or Psychotherapy.
EMDR targets the painful experience that a person survived, oftentimes, many years ago, while following a protocol of questions that
target the disturbing memory or issue.
Using non-painful bilateral stimulation
such as eye movements,
or alternating-vibrating tappers,
which the client holds in their hands,
the EMDR therapist stimulates
the right & left hemispheres of the brain.
This allows the brain to process the painful memories safely, and releases the
negative energy & beliefs around that
traumatic event
(or issue they are working on).
Through this process,
the client begins to heal and is able
to adapt to the challenges they
have been coping with.
EMDR Therapy also works well with
anxiety issues, all kinds of
fearful thoughts, depressed mood,
attachment wounds,
and other mental health
issues associated with having
to adapt and cope with
major life changes.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting (BSP)
is a powerful form of psychotherapy that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neuro- physiological sources of emotional and body pain associated with traumatic experiences and a variety of other challenging mental health issues and symptoms.
BSP evolved from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Somatic Experiencing (SE) traditions
(but are not associated with either EMDR or SE).
Developed by David Grand, Ph.D., in 2003, BSP helps to release upsetting memories that are stored deep within the unconscious brain and in the body by working through the Optic Nerve that is involved the position of a person's eye gaze. Through the BSP protocol, the BSP Therapist helps the client identify their "Brain Spot" connected to issue they are working on, and is able to access emotions and memories stored deep inside the autonomic nervous system, the body, and the limbic system (the subconscious part of our brain).
IADC Grief Therapy
for
Traumatic Loss & Complicated Grief
due to the death of a loved-one.
IADC Grief Therapy
is a process
that is all about
Reconnection, Love
& Healing Old Wounds.
IADC Grief Therapy is a process that releases any
fearful thoughts one may have had with the deceased person and healing your relationship with them,
especially the sadness related to the loss.
The "Induced" part of IADC is not some sort of
scary supernatural process, but rather a
therapeutic protocol of removing the emotional blocks
that makes one more receptive to their loved one's spiritual communication. "Inducing" involves
processing the sadness and removing any
negative beliefs that may be blocking one's loving connection to their loss loved one or friend.
Whether a person is coping with mild to moderate grief, or complicated grief associated with a traumatic loss, IADC Grief Therapy can bring healing
in just a few sessions of intensive processing.
The only requirement is that the bereaved survivor
be at least 6 months into the grief process.
IADC Grief Therapy
Requires a Phone Interview, and
Two - 90 min. IADC Grief Therapy Sessions,
which happens in 2 consecutive days.
Follow-Up phone call is included a few weeks later.
IADC is a modified-form of EMDR and was developed by
Dr. Allan Botkin after working for many years at the
Chicago VA Hospital with Veterans coping with
traumatic loss & PTSD. His book about his
experiences
developing IADC Therapy is called,
"Induced After Death Communication".
After Death Communications (ADC's)
are very common and have happened to people
all throughout history.
During IADC Grief Therapy, many people experience
the healing power of an ADC in some form or
another that results in a beautiful healing
experience for them. However, sometimes
a person does not experience an
ADC during the two IADC Sessions.
But please know that even if a person does not experience an ADC during the therapy session,
it does not mean that a person will not experience an ADC in the following days, or weeks.
They seem to happen when a person
least expects it!
IADC Grief Therapy is extremely healing for
people who are grieving the loss of a loved-one.
